Litigation
Parker Milliken has a broad civil litigation practice which is a significant part of the services provided by the firm. Included in those services are all areas of governmental and commercial litigation with particular expertise in public and private sector contract disputes, construction litigation, banking and insurance litigation, intellectual property litigation, and litigation under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The firm has a wealth of experience in all aspects of business litigation, including preliminary relief such as restraining orders and injunctions, motion practice, discovery, trials and appeals.
In 1989 the firm formed its Complex Litigation Group within the Litigation Department. The Complex Litigation Group has demonstrated expertise in all segments of public sector contract, class action, and construction disputes. To manage these intricate cases, the Complex Litigation Group stands on two pillars of strength: first, highly trained and experienced attorneys and paralegals dedicated to achieving the most cost-effective result for the client; and second, state-of-the-art technology necessary to manage the information required to support complex contract, construction and class action litigation.
At the outset of the firm's retention we carefully analyze our client's goals and engage in an early case assessment to insure they are achieved in a cost effective manner. We are mindful of the need to provide efficient representation taking into account the risks vs. benefits of litigation. The firm appreciates that in most instances business litigation involves a business strategy and is viewed as an investment decision by our clients.
The firm's clients range from individuals to business entities, large and small, and government agencies. We have represented, among many others, telecommunication companies; oil companies; banks; insurance companies; transportation agencies; technology companies; multinational corporations; private individuals; governments; retailers; real estate developers; manufacturers; accountants; and trusts and estates.
