Everett F. Meiners has been with the firm since 1965 and became a shareholder in 1972.

Area of specialization: Representing employers in all aspects of Employment and Labor Law, including employment related litigation.

He has represented employers of all sizes, major corporations and medium size business, in labor, employment and wrongful termination matters involving:

• The counseling of employers with respect to all aspects of the employment relationship of contract,


• Representing unionized employers and non-organized employers,


• Representing employers before the:



• NLRB (National Labor Relations Board),
• EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission),
• DFEH (Department of Fair Employment and Housing),
• DLSE (Division of Labor Standards Enforcement),
• Cal and Fed OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration),
• ALRB (California Agricultural Labor Relations Board),
• and other state and federal agencies regulating the employment
relationship

• His practice includes representing employers in:
  
  
  • the administration of collective bargaining agreements,
  • labor arbitrations,
  • litigating labor related matters before state and federal courts,
  • seeking injunctions against unions in strike related activities,
  • cases in state and federal court with respect to race, sex, religion,
  • sexual orientation, disability and age discrimination claims.

• In addition he has handled cases with respect to the duty of fair representation, including the argument, on behalf of the company, before the United States Supreme Court in Clayton v. UAW, 451 U.S. 679 (1981).
