William W. Reid has been with the law firm since 1980 and became a Partner/Shareholder in 1988. He is currently the firm's Chief Financial Officer, a position he has held since 1994.
Area of Specialization: Taxation matters, with special emphasis in employee benefits, executive compensation, tax exempt organizations and general corporate taxation.
- Primary responsibility for the firm's employee benefit and executive deferred compensation practices.
- Extensive experience in planning, drafting, implementing, terminating and providing operational and fiduciary advice on all aspects of qualified and non-qualified retirement, health and welfare and other deferred compensation and employee benefit plans.
- Extensive experience dealing with various governmental agencies: Internal Revenue Service (obtaining relief, handling plan audits, seeking and obtaining determination letters); the United States Department of Labor (plan operation and form deficiencies); and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation.
- Primary responsibility for the firm's nonprofit corporate and tax practices which include public charities, foundations, trade organizations, and certain health care organizations, with substantial responsibility for the remainder of the firm's tax practice.
