Gary Tokumori is a senior counsel in the areas of business and commercial workouts and litigation. He has extensive experience in the representation of creditors, including financial institutions and leasing companies, both pre-litigation and at the trial and appellate court levels. His notable cases include In re Hanger, 217 B.R. 592 (9th Cir. BAP 1997), affirmed, 196 F.3d 1292 (9th Cir. 1999), which clarified the statutory calculations to be made in connection with the avoidance of judicial liens in bankruptcy cases.
Mr. Tokumori was admitted to practice in California in 1990. He graduated cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics. Mr. Tokumori received his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School in 1990. While at Loyola Law School, he was a Note and Comment Editor for the International and Comparative Law Journal and also served as an Extern to The Honorable Stephen V. Wilson, U.S. District Court, Central District Court of California. He is admitted to practice before all of the state and federal courts in California and has served as a Temporary Judge with the Los Angeles Superior Court.
