William E. Weinberger joined the firm as a shareholder in 2004.
Area of specialization: complex business and real estate litigation; employment litigation.
He has represented major corporations and public entities, as well as mid-sized companies and entrepreneurs in business, real estate and employment cases involving:
- individual, representative and class claims brought under the California Unfair Competition Law (Bus. & Prof. Code 17200),
- contract and indemnity claims,
- breach of contract claims involving sales of business,
- Uniform Trade Secrets Act claims,
- land use and eminent domain matters,
- violations of state and federal employment and discrimination laws (race, sex, sexual orientation, age and disability).
Education:
Cornell University - '77 - B.A., cum laude, in French & American Studies
Stanford Law School - '81 - J.D. He served as Associate Editor of the Stanford Law Review.
Mr. Weinberger was a member of the California Law Revision Commission from 2002 to 2009, and was chair of the Commission from 2004 to 2005.
